I worked at a magnetite mine for around 10years. We processed our ore through a mill on site and trucked the finished product to a port close by to be loaded into a ship.

-Blasted ore was crushed and stacked into high grade and low grade piles.
-Ore was then loaded into feed bin at a ratio say 2-1
-feed bin fed into a ball mill then pumped to screens and cyclones to get required particle size.
-slurry then passed through magnetic seperators/ hydrocyclone to clean product and get to determined iron ore %
-then dried out through a filter to a moisture content below 9% ( this is critical for transport )

then as i said trucked to port and loaded onto a ship.

obviously there is a fair bit more involved but this was the nuts and bolts of it
