Seems fitting that I update the chart on that old post. Post #: 39643993 as we officially have been through another 50% NST retrace. While at it might as well hammer the point further.

The biggest issue with new investors in the gold mining space is that they don't spend enough time understanding their investment; and the old investors on the other hand forget because there is always that element that tell you this time it is different. This is true in general but more so on the cyclical business of mining. If you only had to understand 1 thing about NST and gold miners is that "NST like the rest of the gold mining sector is in the nature of losing 50% in value after a good melt up". With NST, I have personally lived through the last 3 of the 4 listed below and remained invested, with some sizing tweaks. The first one in 2012, well I'm proud to admit that that one shook me off the position with a lot of bruised ego. I'm proud because I learnt the valuable lesson above. Will there be more 50% retracement while I hold this over the years, of course. I'm as sure at that as I'm sure the tide will rise again in the gold mining sector and at some point recede again in the future.

This is the nature of the beast and by all means is not a bad investment. You just need to understand it in the first place... and from time to time remember. Specially when the SP is in the opposite ends of the range because reversal may be soon. Just like I said in that old post a couple of years ago, I do not know when exactly it will reverse to the upside this time around but it will... and just like the reversal from the most recent top (Nov 2020) it will be much sooner than expected.
