What could this mean for me as an investor?Most may be familiar with anti PD-1 immunotherapy (e.g. Keytruda) but this is only effective in roughly around 15%. It FTO (the protein that Zantrene inhibits) can boost the efficacy of anti PD-1 therapies by overcoming resistance the results could be astounding to say the least.
To put this in perspective Merck's sales of Keytruda topped $17.2 billion USD (so $24 billion AUD).

For every 1% resistance that an FTO inhibitor could overcome this may result in further sales of $1.14 billion USD ($1.6 billion AUD). Using the standard x5 peak sales multiple and 50% risk adjusted discount this could represent a value of $8 billion AUD (or $4 billion risk adjusted). That is just some rough numbers for only 1% resistance to be overcome.
I am sure you can figure the full potential for another 5%, 10% or 15% (e.g. doubling the efficacy of existing anti PD-1 treatments).

So I know what PD-1 is but what the hell is FTO?For those not familiar with FTO, that is because it is newly discovered. Zantrene was the No. 1 FTO inhibitor out of 260,000 molecules as identified by City of Hope (Dr Chen) who is now on Race's Scientific Advisory Board. Besides this Zantrene has been found to have cardio protective capabilities separate from its function as an FTO inhibitor, which is the opposite effect of most cancer treatments, which actually damage the heart.
