"Well too bad. Learn to live peacefully alongside your neighbours and everybody wins."
It might reduce tensions somewhat if the US could learn to live peacefully with countries on the other side of the planet, let alone immediate neighbors. Vietnam, Serbia, Iraq (twice), Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, Yemen etc etc etc etc etc come to mind. The US could lead by example perhaps ?
