    with all due respect, I don't think the priority will be on longer term benefits of those being treated, rather in war times the priority is probably to reduce risk of infection and to keep the patient stable so he/she has the best chance to survive. So simple incumbent methods such as cleaning the wound with antiseptic, applying a gauze that has been treated with antiseptic, stitching them up and then bandaging them before the next civilian or soldier than has lost a limb, been shot or had shrapnel removed etc is placed on the operating table.

    Gauzes, antiseptic, stitches and bandages ... cheap, effective and plentiful in supply.

    Can you imagine someone turning up to an operating table and requesting BTM or an equivalent product? Assuming they are concious, the doctor or surgeon might just ask them to go back out and wait until they have some spare time to perform to procure these for them and perform these additional procedures while they are busy saving lives.
