Post covid, the business mode for Chinese student diagou living in Australia/ New Zealand would be to sign up with a corporate diagou operator who would directly ship products to China from New Zealand. They would be buying at a rate cheaper than buying from Aussie supermarkets without having to worry about international freight. They can use their WeChat contacts in China to sell product and deliver to their client’s homes next day. The only difference is the cross border tax of 9% but by buying cheaper than Aussie retail and not paying international delivery, overall cost diff is negligible.
