FACT: Abbott will not stand as leader as he has not been able to win a guarantee that should he loose the next election {which he knows he will} he will remain as leader of the Libs through to the following election due 2015 or 2016.

Andrews, the dull naughty school boy sitting all alone at the back of the class room who has put his hand up for the position of school monitor will not have the numbers.

So Turnbull will survive a spill however there is a huge split and the Libs are terminally wounded as an effective opposition.

SPECULATION: Turnbull will be rolled after the next election and replaced by Hockey.
