Yeh that's interesting. Just doing some quick reading, they've been battling to prove that the IQOS is less harmful than smoking, which it probably isnt, and may need broader studies conducted with access to more and longer term data. From the initial studies:

"The first limitation of our study is the number of subjects who were studied. Another limitation is that we did not explicitly ask the subjects about their sports or fitness levels in advance of this real life experiment, but established a resting period of 30 minutes in order to exclude acute effects in fitness or cycling. Furthermore, we looked for acute cardiovascular effects only. Therefore, long-term studies evaluating the chronic effects of heating compared to vaping or smoking on the cardiovascular system might be warranted."
