-(a) debunk the CCP
-(b) break up China into a lot of ineffectual states
-(c) use Taiwan as a stepping stone in the event of an internal Chinese rebellion which the CIA would ignite, IMO.
(d) in the interim isolate China economically to weaken it and cause social disharmony

(a) & (b) & (d) similar to the US engineered demise of the USSR & the Cold War
(c) interim measure
