Zinc batteries have less energy density than Li-iOn, but safer.
More application of zinc batteries might be in stationary storage, eg., with solar farms, grid stabilisation, etc.
Lots of money has gone into new battery chemistries development. I think Robert Friedland has a spac tracking that.
