There is some confusion about the difference between trading halt and suspension. Some believe there is no difference when in fact they are chalk and cheese.
A trading halt is called when companies believe they can keep the trading interruptions to a minimum and are able to make a rather prompt disclosure.
A suspension is called when it is accepted (before or after a halt) that 2 days is inadequate.
