In the case of a Bullish Engulfing CS patter the shadows are not important. The main criteria is that the larger green body totally is engulfing the smaller red body of the previous day.
Bullish confirmation on the next day takes place, when SP exceeds today’s closing price and while I’m at it, the stop loss shouldn’t be set lower then the opening SP of the green CS. I hope that explains what you were after.
