Michael Crichton is a hack science fiction writer. I enjoy a bit of science fiction on the odd occasion but I remember reading the Andromeda Strain and it was pathetic. Crichton is just trying to revive his career with a beat up.

So we have Joanna Nova, Michael Crichton, wattsupwiththat.com, ihatealgore.com. Steve Fielding, Bob Carter, James Delingpole, Ian Plimer, the Lavoisier Group, Exxon and the fossil fuel industry (although many of them do acknowledge climate change) and some Russian hackers versus almost all peer reviewed science journals and all the climate experts who contribute articles to these journals, plus NASA, the IPCC, CSIRO, the United Nations, National Geographic and many other reputable organisations too countless to mention.

Plus we have Dave R and Hanrahan who have done detailed scientific analyses of the ocean levels by checking out a concrete gutter and looking at the beach, but hang on - Dave R has noticed a slight uptrend in temperature from BOM data. That's what I thought global warming was - a slight uptrend in temperature. If it was more than slight there wouldn't even be any scepticism. So if there is an uptrend then why is it a scam Dave? Also, what is the rate of the uptrend you have found?

P.S. I never mentioned the age thing but now that it has been mentioned, does this mean this fruitless debate will be over in a few decades?
