No offence but it sounds like you've been reading too much (legacy) media.
No one is saying there won't be some 'conflict', but simply marching into sympathetic areas and ending up with a few smaller scale fights is not worthy of the neurotic coverage the media is giving it.
THere are countless border disputes happening every day in Africa, middle east etc....the media is just choosing to zero in on this one.
