Allow me to put in a turn playing whack-a-mole.
The latest concern is apparently whether Talga's graphite is spherical and small, or just small.
1. Talga's graphite origin story, which I am sure we all know by now, is from cyanobacteria: see Talga's geology video for a refresher.
2. MT has commented several times that the shape of the bacteria is what gives the vittangi graphite its unique characteristics. It is true cyanobacteria can come in all sorts of shapes in principle; however, flat platelets >10 micron isnt one of them.
3. The graphite is liberated from the ore by exfoliation, making graphene and graphite; some of the graphite spheroids are shorn into single atom and few-layer thick graphene (the "byproduct") of talga's graphite process-- which, by the way, is an even higher margin product than the graphite. In the below figure, "micrographite" is the spheroidal stuff
4. Here is a SEM from the 2017 talga AGM:
So, is is spherical? Kind of. I would call them rounded flakes or spheroidized flakes. Certainly talga also generates some nanoplatelets amid their size distribution. From everything I can find that MT has said about Vittangi, the flake size is 10 microns and lower.
Now take all that along with what everyone else here is saying: The companies seem to be interested. Tesla seems to be interested. Is Talga's stuff good enough for battery manufacturers? Well, they are lining up to investigate after receiving initial samples. MT has battery materials PhDs. Talga has been testing this for years.
So either you know more than the manufacturers and the PhDs when you doubt talga's product, or... you are cycling through every piece of fear you can possibly find to attempt to shake out weak hands.
Feel free to reopen the Sami Reindeer herding concern. We havent been there in a few weeks.
