Russia invade other countries situated in Europe which make their military combat logistic a lot easier as they can easily overwhelm a country which has way less resources than them which is why NATO was established due to the Cold War. Whereas, the US send a faction of their military capability to other continents to fight terrorist or assist their allies in civil war, the US can easily invade their neighbours if they wanted too but they don't because they are part of the democracy civilization where their citizen have rights to oust the government.
