What I meant was as their normal strategy they don’t get in and out of shares on long term basis. Only time they did was when Covid hit the world. This went against them and they are paying the price still. End of the day you have to have funds with you to make money. To keep funds with you , performance has to be good against competitors whether other index funds or fund management teams. With higher inflation and interest rates you need a certain type of companies to continue do well for next 5 years with lower growth and higher input cost. Magellan portfolio is well suited for this environment. The flash performance indicators for this trend is your latest performance numbers for last month, 3 months, 6 months. These numbers have improved dramatically for MFG portfolio. The current trend is the key. Sometimes these changes are not noticed until it is noticed. Specially when you have had a bad year or 18 months with huge underperformance. We will see how fund inflows/ outflows will be when this change in trend is accepted. Trend is happening now but jury has not accepted it yet.
