    Well obviously not from the Russian perspective.

    You only can say that because you wrongly believe NATO is defensive which is idiotic nonsense.
    It is an aggressive military force through which the US militarily dominates Europe .
    It is the military force of the major imperialist powers US and Germany, moving ever eastwards (like Hitler), putting offensive military forces directly on Russia's border.
