Hasn't worked according to plan. Now the normally divided and bickering European states are unified in condemning Putin's actions and even the Germans have given up on appeasement and are sending weapons and support.

As for the "nuclear option" Putin is threatening, even his staunchist allies know that would be either a bluff or suicide. If Putin tried it I think his own military would swiftly remove him as completely insane. Threatening nuclear war because of unfriendly economic actions and unfriendly words from other governments? Its just another planned gangster tactic to try and intimidate the world into letting him do whatever he wishes. Not going to happen. "LOSER!"
