    I don't think there is much benefit to extending mine life beyond 12 or so years from a NPV perspective. Long mine lives of 20 years plus start to attract suitors with big balance sheets and long time horizons, but the opposite is also true and 9 years is too short. Luckily they don't seem to have trouble finding the stuff so it will improve with time.
