I was never a foot soldier , but my uncles use to say in Italy during WW2 the plan was booby trap a place with three grenades , have an exit strategy , then ambush with the enfield Mk2 (it outranged the sten gun ) at 100 yards then run the booby traps got the most payback on capital spent just a grenade and trip wire .
