Sixteen is the legal age in Australia but you are saying it is only OK if the partner is also about sixteen ???
OK well what should be the age for normal consensual sex with anyone then ???? if it is not sixteen in your opinion ?

Also, your opinion of maturity is very subjective. That is it seems to be based on Australian society. Maturity may be seen differently in other societies with different norms and customs.

Also, nature at this time has most humans going through puberty between ages 12 and 14 resulting in them becoming sexually aware and in many cases sexually active at this age. This appears to be nature at work not anything evil.

I am aware of the need to protect children from sexual exploitation but I am buggered if I can put a precise number as to what the age of consent should be, except that to reflect what happens now in contemporary society and to avoid making criminals out of half the population it should be somewhere in the early teens.
