Massively happy long-termer here and celebrating with all of you our first major target - the $1.00 "party" . LOL.

I bought in to CXO 6-7 years ago before lithium was as fashionable as it has recently become. Over the past 20 years I have worked in 3 year blocks without any holidays whatsoever, saved like hell and then taken a major vacation in USA/Canada every 3rd year, usually being away for 10-12 weeks, before returning to another holiday-free 3 years of work. I did this in 2002, 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014.

After 2014 I decided that, at 57 years of age, I needed to look towards my retirement and decided to forego my 2017 and 2020 overseas breaks and instead put the $20,000 - $25,000 (x2) usually pi$$ed up against North American walls into a personal investment portfolio on market.

Between September 2014 and last month, aside from Covid-19 lockdowns I've not had 3 consecutive days off work in over seven and a half years. It's been hard work, but along the way investment in my portfolio has grown far beyond the envisaged $50,000 investment to a point where I have invested extra monies up to around $120,000 total over those 8 years. I've lost $15,000 on IAM, another $8,000 on XPE and am underwater in SMN to the tune of about $15,000 (although well set up for the massive things to come in that one).

The shining light, however, throughout that period has been CXO. I bought in when the company was foundering in the 3-6 cent range, then fell to something like 1.4 cents. I regret not buying more at that "low" (don't we all?) but over that period I managed to average down to to just over 4.4 cents for my 460,000 shares. That outlay of $20,400 over a few years back then (after so far selling off 60,000 CXO to lock in profits and a free ride on CXO and expand investment on my other promising stocks) is now worth around $400,000. With the Tesla announcement and updates still to be announced, I fully expect CXO's SP to double and double again in the next few years. I plan to be along for the ride the whole way (aside from a small sell down to buy my dream car - 2022 or 2023 V8 ten-speed auto Ford Mustang convertible) through Stage 2 and the likely Hydroxide plant and on to dividends.

    Three weeks ago I retired.

No pension EVER.... no more full or part-time work EVER. After 43 years of work and taxes, my decision to forego those vacations overseas has born fruit and I can have the retirement I dreamed of.

I have to thank the fellow old-timers here whose informed and informative posts on HC swayed my thinking towards the potential of CXO at a time when my and my family's future needed it. You guys and gals here on HC have been the conduit to the best future I could have ever hoped for in my retirement.

    I Thank you all.

    Bill.
