Yes Hiroshima nd Nagasaki set a precedent it was like Dresden on steroids , given Japan had become a shell of itself , argument was that American troops would have had to fight house to house in Japan if it had not been nuked , but surely by that stage Japan was contained as had no navy or airforce to speak of
