But yeah long story short we are on the same page. i agree they have got a lot ticked off, could they have done it faster and cheaper, almost definitely. Does their million record+ DB have great potential to be monetised? 100%! My only concern at this point is them breaking into those big franchises. it's a key indicator of whether this will be a flop.
There are a few other ideas I have had to incentivise RentPay, like give aways for rental payments on time. Each month, every tenant that pays on time goes into a draw for tiered prizing. The more it's talked about the more it's asked for. like, wow RentPay gave me an iPhone...
Once you have the tenants you can start to make changes to monetise it further, humans are creatures of habit you need to get them to want to change. The real estate agents aren't going to change unless they're asked by tenants and incentivised also. What benefits could be given to them? i guarantee they could throw in a management system for free that tracks payments and arrears, rental ledgers etc. when you sell software, as I'm sure you're well aware, as well as meeting their requirements you've got to ask, how can we make this stick. Integrate it with as much as possible, so that it becomes part of the core. if it's easy to get rid of, it's the first thing on the chopping block when savings are talked about.
I'm wondering if management's thinking like this or just kicking rocks, getting along.
