Holymagimon appears to be the expert here on dry coals ... and has frequently referred to Horse Shoe (or Horseshoe) Canyon in Canada (I think) ... if I remember correctly, very decent flows have been achieved from even relatively thin seams for a considerable period of time ... you would also have to think Opex would be relatively low if there is little or no dewatering involved.
