It's not a bad tactic with GIP to back off from time to time, because immediately panic merchants will think they've missed the boat and start driving the sp into reverse. One day the panic merchants will be right, of course, meanwhile, and until there is news, daily movements are pretty much irrelevant, always provided that the sp stays, roughly, in its current bracket.
