The mere mention of lithium in the MRE has definitely piqued my interest here - as we all know NB is a massive innovator and would no doubt love to be the first mover in producing lithium from brines using geothermal in Australia. It definitely begs the question - do GRV have any information regarding lithium occurrences on the 4 tenement applications just submitted?
From my extremely basic research it does appear that the Great Artesian Basin has the right geology to support lithium extraction (it was once a giant inland sea). Could this be the reason for the shift from the gas/ solar hybrid power plant to the geothermal option? The departure from the original was so left field that you just have to consider there is some reasonable rationale for the significant paradigm shift? Particularly as this occurred in the middle of a PFS?
Just for a moment picture a company that is the sole domestic supplier of bitumen products, using a method that offsets all of the CO2 emissions, accumulating carbon credits like they are going out of fashion, feeding significant amounts of power into the grid, and as the icing on the cake producing green lithium at the lowest cost percentile imaginable? Throw in the activated carbon and you have a company that could very easily be valued at many, many billions of dollars.
I totally understand that many things will have to fall into place for us to get there, but just remember NB has been here before and no doubt is looking for a challenge to keep him interested before he decides it’s time to hang up the boots.
I’m probably reaching here but we could just be sitting on the next VUL and just haven’t realized it yet…
