Comparing a company that went bust in the Global Financial Crisis? Who here has the flawed understanding? Very poor comparison.
They're not hiring 1 or 2 staff, not even 10 or 20 staff. They're hiring hundreds. A clear difference in company direction and growth momentum.They should focus on AU profitability, UK (QuadPay) growth & US (Sezzle) growth.
The initial problem was they were targeting growth in too many countries / regions: Middle East (Spoti), EU (Twisto), India (ZestMoney), etc. Exponential growth will work well in a tech bull market with low interest rates however given interest rates rise on the near horizon, management will have to change strategy which is already in motion. (reducing cash burn and aim for profitability sooner than later)
