Dug, 5 Gigafactories are needed in the U.K.

1) Nissan in Sunderland already exists but needs upgrading
2) Blyth also in the North East (North of Newcastle) & being built by Britishvolt.
3) Coventry in the West Midlands is likely to be next
4) Britishvolt have also worked with the Welsh government to build a plant at St.Athan but Blyth was chosen for the first gigaplant (as they call them)
5) Tesla have looked in the South West near Bristol but that is not announced as yet and Amazon are building huge infrastructure in that area
The government is very supportive in policy but less so in funding.
Birmingham is another option in the U.K. and I believe Ellesmere Port near Liverpool are building a small plant funded by the French. That might be incorrect.

Graphite is available from Humberside and Nickel from Port Talbot in South Wales. Lithium is the issue for the U.K. only 25% of the Lithium required can be covered within the U.K. notably from Cornwall. That could be why the U.K. ECA are interested in companies based in Argentina and recently visited a place called Kachi.
