If you look at other company's in the BNPL space they do all seem to be losing money and unprofitable.
Credit Intelligence collects a service fee on their BNPL activities. This has no Cost Of Sales associated so the total fees collected could be considered Gross Profit.
CI1 collected a small amount in the last 6 month report. "SME and individuals BNPL service income $10,543"
As all CI1 BNPL products were and still are in there infancy this small amount is to be expected and would not cover other costs like the new office space yet.
The BNPL expansion that is occurring now with the products CI1 have will certainly contribute net profits to CI1. This could be right now or in the near future IMO. It could be a very large contribution depending on expansion rate of the services. Jimmie is fund raising by attempting to source another big partner with a "Target to be a profitable BNPL model with big growth in GMV in 2022"
Probably encouraged by this.
"As one of the biggest ‘buy now, pay later’ (BNPL) players in Southeast Asia, Atome continues to attract major investments. The Singapore-based company recently secured a US$500 million investment from Standard Chartered."
