In answer to your two questions:
1. To be totally sure of proceeding it would depend upon the current Gov signing the formal agreement, having agreed all terms and conditions within the next 26 days (the latest the Gov can go before calling an election and going into caretaker mode). It will likely happen within 20 days though. Anyone think this Gov will get that done in that time frame?

2. There would be no grant.

(Surely the conditions include a successful BFS, enough binding offtakes to obtain finance, obtaining finance, and a FID on the secondary processing. Those conditions are two years off at a minimum IMHO given the Enviro stages to jump through yet.)


Not to say the next Gov wouldn't necessarily honour an agreement in principle made now, they could well do. I fits in with ALP policies which Scomo if frantically trying to replicate in the last days of his dying gov. But it's certainly not a given with the truly unprecedented, gargantuan gov debt the Libs are leaving, and increasing by the day - while IR are going to head north rapidly.
