Actually i think a Liberal win would be counter productive; I do however accept that the Liberals are largely pro-nuclear but i also think the same applies to Labor (but not as enthusiastically). The fact is that at the end of the day any decision on nuclear in Australia will have to be bi-partisan since no one will put up the capex without that being the position.

The problem for Labor is that they see it as a "wedge" issue and should the Liberals announce it as policy then by being anti-nuclear the Labor party would hope to see support from any (probably few) anti-nuclear Liberals so it would be great news for them. For Labor it's the opposite; should they announce a pro-nuclear position then he defection of their anti-nuclear lobby to the Greens would be much larger (they have more of these idiots) and would probably gain little from the Liberals who would likely support Labor. No hope for the Greens who will continue to believe in fairies to solve climate change

IMO the best hope is for Labor to get into government and then have a religious experience to embrace nuclear as the only technology able to solve climate change. By the time the next election came along the Labor crazies would either have joined the Greens or be banging another drum - pity we don't have 4 year terms. It's interesting how Labor endorsed the AUKUS nuclear sub deal; never give up
