Looks like ESI's softly,softly approach was warranted after all.
Have they ever said they wanted to export from the Latrobe Valley? A problem is that without state support, the infrastructure necessary to get it to port might not be built. Still nothing stopping using brown coal coldry locallay for existing power stations.
Anyway, might take a hit today, but fundamentally I don't see it as huge deal other than for Exergen.

Who know's the government might have decided that Coldry was a better technology and had the added advantage that could be developed of its own accord without political fallout.
