It was clear cut from the beginning that no adverse effects on competition would be likely.
GNC and QUB at times work together but competing for handling at the Port of Newcastle sees two majority-owned listed companies battling it out. Great that private equity isn't involved. (I hold both GNC/QUB).
Amusingly, the ACCC release repeatedly refers to the 'Port of Kembla'. I thought it was always just the self-evident 'Port Kembla' that's a place name as well as the port's description.
