The Cougar - yes, there are many laypersons making their views very public. This is contributing to what I see as the 'faith-based' view of climate change, spawning both 'believers' of climate change and 'believers' of global conspiracies - both 'beliefs' based on faith not information. And it takes a lot to get someone to change their faith.

I prefer to draw conclusions based on scientific research, not the highly politicised views of laypersons, regardless of their political persuasion.

The real issue for the moment, in my mind, is what is the world going to do about it. In this matter we await the result of the political posturing at Copenhagen and hope that there is at least real progress, at best an agreed approach that has some chance of making a difference.
