Yes I fear the same for NZ, as we are about to shutdown our only oil refinery at Marsden Pt, north of Auckland. Shipping and a large pipeline ensures Auckland/NZ has plentiful petroleum supplies. The Refinery is switching to importing all refined products from Asia.
I fear for our energy security without this "can do" local refinery option (and a Govt limit in NZ on future oil and gas exploration) now more than ever, we should have more self reliance!
Looking forward to CVN lifting the BIG lid on new and regionally important, massive hydrocarbon deposits!
