Other Majors often don't announce results from a well until after full analysis has taken place. See Hess in their current campaign in the Carnarvon Basin, or Shell when they were drilling in the Browse earlier in the year. Of course, both those campaigns were 100% owned and operated by the companies, but I'm sure there are other examples where JV partners are involved.
