Nope thats my understanding of it also. If you consider the cost of a PCR as $100 and lets say $1 for a RAP test. The savings to society can quickly add up.
Scenario 1; 2000 tests @ 100 = $200,000 to the government
Scenario 2: 2000 tests @ $1 + 472 PCR tests @ 100 = $49,200 to the government
So that s a little over $150k saved in just 2000 people.
Not to mention the 1500 people that had already got on with their lives and not isolating waiting for results.
Not to mention the 1500 bits of waste saved by not carrying our the additional PCR test.
