    Hi benlogan

For the record I am not affiliated with Shaws or Amadeus - although I (and members of my family, on my suggestion) have modest holdings in AMU. I for one intend to hold for a good while yet as the company is only just starting to realise some of the amazing potential in its US oil and gas properties and from its biodiesel business.

I have been a fan of AMU for many years, on the basis that they had a good business plan and solid management. I do a lot of research to back up why I should keep my dollars invested in AMU, and have posted summaries of it on Hot Copper for some time. When I can't find critical info I need for my analysis I give the company a call and have always found those on the other end of the phone willing to help to the extent they are able to. Those who have read my stuff will see that my early summaries read a lot like the first of the Shaws broker report on the company (which came out some time after my posts). I have also sent information to Quentin Cameron when he was running the Oil and Gas Bulletin, and some of my research got a run in his report for a while.

All my info is derived from public sources, although some of the stuff takes a bit of 'googling' around to dig up.

I guess after following and analysing the company for over 5 years I have a good understanding of where they are at and where they are likely to go - all of which I have summarised in my posts here.

I am particularly impressed with the way the management of AMU have husbanded the company through tough times (oil at $10 a barrel!!) and have pulled off some very canny buys (Morgans Bluff, Red Creek, Raccoon Bend and lately - albeit still to be fully realised with drilling - Halletsville South).

The latest acquisition in Iberville Parish could even turn out to be their best buy yet. Have a look at the announcement put out by FAR on Thurday last week. They will be one of the joint venture partners and have given a bit more info on the size of the prospects that the planned exploration wells are targetting. The shallow prospects, with potential for 2.5 million barrels of oil and 2.5 billion cubic feet of gas are worthwhile targets - but get a load of the deeper ones. (I'll leave it to those interested to check it out).

As I have posted before, on the basis of likely major profit growth in the very near future or on the basis of their present net asset value, AMU is currently seriously undervalued. I expect it to be trading at well over A$1.00 before the end of next year. Certainly one I intend to hold for the long term.

I gather you are a shareholder too benlogan, if so best wishes for a (very) profitable future.

    cheers
