Russia is a HUGE area geographically. they have to move them by train AND provide logistical support and time and again their supply lines get smashed. Which is why such little success inland. They've got support from the sea, and those guns are pulverising the coastal cities they've concentrated on. Smashing everything in sight because, it's Putins' party and he'll smash it up if he wants to.

Mopping up operation? After they've blasted the living sheet out of the place and starved everyone and cut off the water.
