If Europeans hadn't arrived in Australia:
We wouldn't have feral cats, feral dogs, foxes, rabbits, blackbirds, Indian Mynahs, blackberries, ragwort, thistles, dandelions.
There would still be Tasmanian Aborigines
Queenstown, Tasmania would not be the wasteland that it is today

Not a single plastic bag would be strewn on the landscape, nor aluminium cans or glass bottles
Not a single turtle or dolphin would die as a result of consuming plastic bags.
The thylacine would still exist
Many of our marsupials would not be endangered
Millions of wildlife wouldn't be killed or maimed on roads
Much of Australia would be as pristine as it ever was.
Is Australia really so much better off as a result of European settlement? My thoughts are no.
Cheers,
Tangrams
