A Google search for "acid dissolution of NdFeB magnets" is quite productive - don't miss the Scholar refs but the main hits are adequate.
Many schemes for dissolving and reclaiming using any of common acids - Shin Etsu and Hitachi both recycled both swarf and ribbon.
All about cost of inputs including power. It is often difficult to obtain the same quality materials from recycled versus virgin materials. However, there is NO QUESTION recycling will be a big business and estimates range widely for the fraction that will be recycled in the future. Picking waste off the floor of the magnet production facility is cheap - extracting magnets from motors and magnet assemblies is quite complex and labor-intensive not to mention the need to demagnetize or the need to remove nickel or polymeric coatings etc.
Definitely a kiln could be involved.
