The cheapest way to monetisation will cost$1b and take a minimum of 6 years. That’s assuming NWS wants their gas.
How will this play out IMO. After the independent report comes out ,all the jelly headed retailers will push the SP up several fold, peaking within 20 days. The SP will not be supported by the insto’s, because they know it is stranded and does nothing for the bottom line. The SP will drop and be back at 20c by end of June. Retailers will blow their money, hope and aspirations. This is not a company maker.
Can I make money from this, definitely, will I make a play, dunno, it depends on the timing of IVZ. Type of play, in and out like a gigolo on a cougar.
What is truly ironic, is not that I play O&G but the younger generation are so reluctant to accept change. This should be their forte. Buffet sees where the world is headed and positions himself at the front of the queue. Willing the world not to change and quoting those with a self interest in that doesn’t stop the steamroller. The clock is ticking on oil and gas use by date. Fastest for coal, then gas then oil. I am not passionate about hydrocarbons or climate change. Just trying to position myself ahead of the steamroller and make money. Karoon doubling production won’t double their SP as an aside. A successful play for me is 300% or more within 1 year. I’d rather punt on the jelly headed retailers on Buru.
