'Low geo-political risk'? - In 2020 World Bank rated DRC 187/190 for ease and safety of dong business. Corruption is an every day reality and importing plant/equipment/machinery and material is always fraught with delays and costs that cant be predicted. Not to mention the disease issues in managing a workers camp. In the last 8 years I am aware of 2 Australian headquartered miners that have had management teams entrapped by rioting workers throwing stones and armed with machetes over minor disputes. 1 of which had to be extracted by and expert team. Banks that can be instructed by the corrupt taxation dept. to hold you money before you transfer out of country and delay and delay and delay and tie up lawyers for months/years.
