"six years of use before an electric vehicle has made up the co2 deficit against an ICE car"?
Makes me think of the saying "lies, dam lies and statistics"
Putting aside the six years of petrol burning ( lets say about 15 tonnes over six years).
An ICE car still has to be manufactured as well as an electric car. The battery may be made from mined and processed minerals, but so is an ice engine block and alloy components. The 15 tonnes of petrol, aside from its use, still has to be extracted, shipped, refined, trucked and pumped over that six years.
Rennis, i like your posts, so I'm definately not having a go at you, but ya gotta watch those pro fossil fuel guys when they throw around stats in their favour. They do tend to be tricky buggers at best.
I would bet my proverbial left one, that an electric car running on nuclear or solar generated electicity would take much less than six years to be on par with an ICE car.
