re: targets miocene or cretaceous - hardmano Hi all,
I have a few old media report, etc in my filling cabinet which I've just browsed. There was a heap of information on Fusion's site (FOG) but they were taken out, hence no more web site.
Tiof is huge if early indications count for anything. Let's not forget that the Chinguetti sand channel dwarfs that of Tiof. We have come to expect big things from the Tiof fairway but I expect even bigger things from the Chinguetti fairway.
I found an old article on Mauritania from The Age (21/11/99) that states
"There is no shortage of targets in the Hardman acreage, including numerous one billion barrel plus types"
This is the link but there is a charge. Maybe somebody that has a copy on hard drive can post the full article as I only have a print out.
"Hardman picks up the big guns for Mauritania"

This from another source.
"In a 2001 report commissioned by Australia's Woodside Petroleum, the majority owner and operator of PSC areas A and B, the Dallas-based oil consultancy DeGolyer and MacNaughton assessed possible offshore reserves in PSC areas A, B and C blocks 2-6 at up to 5.8 bn barrels on a non-risk adjusted basis."

Does anybody have a copy of the DeGloyler and MacNaughton expert opinion on Woodsides reserves? (Target's statement Shell Investments bid for WPL.) A William Noell piece I have states a possible recovery of 6 million barrels per square kilometre based on similar geological terrains, in particular the GOM.
Best to let it all unfold over the next few years.
Cheers,
