Having just returned from a few months in Singapore, let me tell you... If you believe they won't fund something like that, you're wrong.

Real estate is an absolute premium over there. Think they'll just put solar panels on top of high-rises? Yes, but given urban density; this won't make a dent. Furthermore, given the climate, most days are overcast. Solar panels aren't efficient or reliable there. They can't simply outsource this energy concern to nearby Malaysia or Indonesia due to a similar climate. Additionally, this space is typically reserved green space; allocated to parks, recreation and farming.

They're Investing tens of billions on land reclamation. And this isn't in the planning stage. This is happening right now.

So do I believe they'll be willing to spend a couple of billion on cables to make Singapore net-zero? Absolutely. With the Australian outback effectively offering an unlimited amount of free real estate for Singapore... Mega Solar Farms will be required.

Strategically; this offers Singapore the capacity to further increase their presence in South East Asia. Once the initial cost is sunk; imagine being able to sell green energy to nearby Malaysian and Indonesian cities? The cost of running cables the extra length at this point will be marginal compared to the cost. This is a huge economic opportunity.

The next decade will be a transformational decade to be invested in Copper and related materials alike.
