Hi
@Goblin
On a hillside on Sydney’s Pittwater.
The Kookaburra is the boldest and hungriest of about 6 that visit … i never over feed on a visit and won’t feed them every day … he’s a bit of a larrikin really so it wouldn’t surprise me if you had a place nearby lol.
There is a King Parrot just in frame, one of a family of 6 that visit 3-4 times a week.
My favourites are the Butcher Birds who will occasionally take a morsel from my hand, but prefer me to throw it from our top veranda to the lower one and they swoop to catch it mid air … great song and chatter … when you Google what Butcher birds eat there’s a consistent theme that they hand small animals in trees and rip pieces off them for a few days … I reckon that’s bs because they are to small to fly with even a small animal … given the accuracy of their aerial feeding at our place I reckon they dart around tree tops and bushes snapping up flying insects.
Anyway, just in case, g’day neighbour.
