    Yeah nah, what you are saying is wrong and makes no sense.

    If you buy a share before the XD date you are entitled to dividend. That is why the SP normally drops by roughly the equivalent of the dividend on the XD day as the share no longer carries rights to the dividend.

    EG: If I buy a share on a Monday before it goes XD on a Tuesday, the record day will be the Wednesday. This is why T+2 still works as Monday+2 days is Wednesday.
